Delhi Govt. introduced Progressive EV policy 2020.

Delhi government announced its electric vehicle policy on Friday, August 2020. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that they are aiming to boost up the adoption of electric vehicles in Capital city and the economy. Experts in this field believes this as one of the best EV policies drafted in India.

This is a three year policy, aiming to constitute 25% Electric vehicles by 2024, which is currently less than 1 % in Capital city.  According to the policy, EV buyers are offered purchase incentives, benefits on scrappage, Waiver on road tax, registration fee and interest subvention on loans.

Delhi CM Arvind Kerjriwal said, "We have notified  Electric vehicle policy today. With this policy, we aim to generate employment to give a boost to Delhi's economy and reduce pollution level in the national capital". He also added that we do not need such development where pollution level is high.

Arvind kejriwal also said that they are hoping to register 5 lakh electric vehicles within next five years and also planning to give training to youths, so that they get job in EV Sector.
